VA609 TAD
In a recent
VoiceAmp survey, the overwhelming majority of stutterers stated
that dysfluency is very prominent when using the telephone.
VoiceAmp, in
conjunction with the Dominic Barker Trust, have developed a telephone
interface for people who stutter. Building on the proven 601 architecture,
the new platform now boasts features including word prompting.
As well as a wealth of new research data, VoiceAmp were delighted with the initial results of the
6 month UK clinical trial of the Telephone Assistive Device (TAD), presented by Monica Bray (Leeds University)
and her team at the Oxford Dysfluency conference July 2008. Additional trials are underway at WITS University, and commercial trials with a major UK telco.
Results are now published in: International Journal of Speech-Language Pathology, Volume 11, Issue 1 February 2009 , pages 54 - 60.
